Care
Guide
Thoughtful care helps preserve the softness, shape, texture, and appearance of your pet's favorite pieces. Use this guide as a general reference and always follow any care instructions supplied with the individual product.
Designed for everyday moments, cared for with intention.
Solvane Atelier pieces may include a variety of materials and constructions, from lightweight summer fabrics and breathable mesh to soft sweaters, padded winter garments, and leather accessories. Because these materials behave differently, care should always be adapted to the individual product.
Before washing or cleaning any item, check the product page, attached care label, or packaging instructions. When no specific instruction is available, gentle handling and low-impact cleaning are generally preferable to aggressive washing, high heat, or harsh chemicals.
Material by material
Different textures require different approaches. These guidelines provide a practical starting point for common materials used across pet apparel and accessories.
Cotton & Bamboo Fiber
Wash gently with similar colors and avoid unnecessarily strong detergents. Low-temperature washing and natural air drying can help preserve the fabric's hand feel and structure.
Tencel & Lightweight Blends
Lightweight Tencel-based or blended fabrics should be handled gently. Avoid excessive heat and aggressive wringing, which may affect the shape or surface of the material.
Mesh & Breathable Fabrics
Remove loose dirt first, then clean gently. Avoid rough surfaces and sharp objects that could catch or damage the mesh structure.
Leather Accessories
Leather collars, leads, and harness components should be kept away from prolonged soaking. Wipe surface dirt gently and allow the material to dry naturally away from direct heat.
Gentle care is usually the better choice.
Before washing a garment, close zippers, fasteners, or removable components where appropriate. Shake off loose debris and check the item for stains that may need localized attention.
Use a mild detergent when suitable and avoid bleach, strong solvents, or harsh stain-removing chemicals unless the product's care instructions specifically allow them.
After cleaning, reshape the garment gently and allow it to dry naturally in a well-ventilated area whenever appropriate.
Do / Don't
Do
Recommended- Check the individual product care label first.
- Use a gentle washing method suitable for the material.
- Separate dark and light colors when appropriate.
- Close fasteners before washing when possible.
- Air dry naturally when the material allows it.
- Store products clean and completely dry.
- Inspect leather accessories periodically for wear.
Don't
Avoid- Do not assume every fabric can be machine washed.
- Do not use high heat unless specifically permitted.
- Do not soak leather components for extended periods.
- Do not use bleach on colored or delicate fabrics.
- Do not aggressively wring lightweight garments.
- Do not store damp clothing in closed spaces.
- Do not use damaged accessories for active wear.
A simple care routine
Regular light maintenance can often reduce the need for aggressive cleaning and help keep frequently worn pieces looking their best.
After wearing
Remove loose hair, dust, and surface debris. Allow the garment to air out before placing it into storage.
For small marks
Address minor stains promptly with a gentle spot-cleaning method appropriate for the material instead of immediately subjecting the entire garment to a full wash.
After washing
Remove excess moisture carefully, reshape the item if necessary, and allow it to dry thoroughly in a suitable ventilated area.
Before storage
Make sure the product is fully dry and clean. Fold or store it in a way that avoids unnecessary pressure, crushing, or deformation.
Give every piece a proper place to rest.
Proper storage is especially useful for seasonal pet clothing such as padded coats, sweaters, Christmas outfits, and other winter pieces. Before storing seasonal products for an extended period, clean them according to their care instructions and make sure they are completely dry.
- Keep clean garments away from moisture.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
- Do not compress padded garments unnecessarily.
- Keep leather accessories dry and well ventilated.
- Check stored items before the next season of use.
