Size
Guide

The right fit should feel comfortable, natural, and easy to wear. Use your pet's measurements together with the chart below to select the closest size for clothing and selected accessories from Solvane Atelier.

Measure before ordering

Start with your pet, not the label.

Pet sizes can vary considerably even when two animals have a similar weight. For this reason, we recommend measuring the back length, chest, and neck before selecting a size.

Weight is provided as an additional reference only. If your pet falls between two sizes, compare the actual measurements with the chart and consider the intended fit of the specific garment.

B

Back Length

Measure from the base of the neck to the beginning of the tail while your pet is standing naturally.

C

Chest

Measure around the widest part of the chest, usually just behind the front legs. Keep the tape comfortably close without tightening.

N

Neck

Measure around the lower part of the neck where the collar or garment neckline naturally sits.

Between two sizes?

If your pet's measurements sit close to the upper limit of a size, compare the next size as well. For thicker winter garments, allow enough room for comfortable movement and layering.

Different garment shapes

Clothing styles may have different cuts and construction. Four-leg garments, sweaters, padded coats, vests, and harnesses may fit differently even when they share the same size label.

How to measure

A simple three-point measurement makes choosing easier.

Pet apparel and fit
01

Keep your pet standing

Place your pet on a level surface in a relaxed, natural standing position. Avoid measuring while your pet is sitting or lying down.

02

Use a flexible tape

A soft measuring tape gives the most useful result. Keep it close to the body but do not pull it tightly.

03

Record three measurements

Write down back length, chest circumference, and neck circumference before comparing them with the chart.

04

Check the product page

Some garments or accessories may have additional product-specific measurements or fitting notes. Always review them before ordering.

Choosing the right fit

For summer clothing

Lightweight cotton, Tencel, mesh, and breathable garments can generally sit comfortably close to the body without excessive looseness.

For winter clothing

Padded coats, down-filled styles, fleece, and thicker sweaters may require consideration of the garment's construction and the space needed for comfortable movement.

For harnesses

A harness should provide secure support without restricting the shoulders, pressing into the legs, or creating uncomfortable pressure around the neck and chest.
